Friday January 11th has been announced as the next date for our Acorns Bereavement Support Programme. The free six week course provides reassurance and companionship with those who understand loss and grief, providing support to bereaved people to face new and emerging demands in day-to-day life. Programmes are open to anyone who is living with loss and there is no charge for attending. Based around group work, the course explores various aspects of loss to share common concerns and develop greater confidence for the future. Our belief is that bereavement is a journey to be travelled and not an illness to be cured or a problem to be solved.
The January course features six, hour and a half-long sessions, starting at 10am on Friday January 11th at The Eric Liddell Centre, (The Elthan Suite, 3rd floor) 15 Morningside Road, Edinburgh, EH10 4DP.
Acorns is co-ordinated by Tom Gordon, an experienced practitioner with bereavement issues, and a former member of the bereavement support team in the Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh. Members of the Acorns team are available throughout each programme, and different bereavement specialists are also available from week to week. Call 0131 510 8393 for further details and to book your place.
